Jan Brostek owns Pins & Needles in Ohio where she has classes every day ofthe week teaching local sewing enthusiasts the craft of sewing.

What Needles To Use & When (Stop Breaking Your Needles)
You know the biggest problem people have with a sewing machine when disaster strikes is we probably don’t have the right needle in.
Having the right needle to suite your sewing needs can have a big impact on how your project turns out.
While there are many projects that can be stitched using a universal needle, Jan Brostek shares with you that it’s good to know what other needle options are out there and what projects and fabrics they are best used with.

How To Use Gathering For a Creative Flare
How much are you afraid of gathering? Have you ever had the thread break on you and then you had to go back and redo it? That's terrible!
There’s so many tools now to make your job so much easier. I’m going to show you 3 delightful ways to gather and you’re going to get the most perfect gathering exactly how you want it.
Gathering fabric is a skill you will use over and over again in sewing. And it doesn't have to be difficult.

How To Use Stretch Stitching
Don't feel limited by your machine if you don't have a serger. You don't HAVE to have an overlocker.
There are so many stitches available to you on your regular sewing machine for sewing stretchy fabrics! Explore the different types of stitches that will stretch and therefore work for sewing fabrics.
From zig zag to overlock to cover stitch, I compare how they're made and how much they stretch. Here are some fun stitches that you should be using every single time that you sew.

How To Use Double Needles
I want to teach you some tricks about double needles.
I know if I can get you to use double needles or even a triple needle that you’re doing something outside your box and it’s going to be important for quilting , we do it for garments , or even top stitching.
You will see what a twin needle is and what all those numbers mean on the packaging, how to insert the needle into your sewing machine, how to thread your machine when using a twin needle and see the twin needle in action.
