Frequently Asked Questions
How can I determine if my machine will work with QMX and the Cutie Breeze frame?
This system is designed for a domestic machine with a minimum 9″ throat space to the right of the needle, as recommended by Grace. If your machine is 8½″ — like the Juki TL series and other straight-stitch machines — it will still work, but your quilting area will be reduced by ½″. If it's smaller than 8½″, it won't have enough quilting space. Not sure? Take the quiz or call us with your machine model and we'll figure it out together.
Is the Grace Little Rebel compatible?
Yes — and it's our top recommendation. The Little Rebel was designed to pair seamlessly with the Cutie Breeze and QMX, and it has the biggest throat space (13″) of any machine in our lineup, plus a built-in stitch regulator.
Will this work with my original Cutie frame or any other frame?
No. QMX is only compatible with the Cutie Breeze frame — not the original Cutie (even with the chariot top carriage upgrade) and not any other frame. Grace estimates upgrading the original Cutie would cost over $500, which is why we've priced the QMX + Cutie Breeze bundle as aggressively as we have.
Does QMX connect to the machine and regulate stitches?
No. QMX moves the carriage that holds your machine — it controls the placement and motion of the design. Stitch regulation is still handled by your machine's speed controller. (The Little Rebel is the one machine in our lineup with a built-in stitch regulator.)
Can I use designs from other vendors?
Yes. You can upload designs from other sources — both block and edge-to-edge patterns — as long as they're in SVG format.
