As with most quilting machines, the 1600P-QC has a side-loading bobbin that makes for easy replacement. It uses L-style bobbins that hold more thread so that you can go longer between bobbin replacements. To access the bobbin while sewing, the machine has a sliding plate that allows convenient access to remove and load bobbins.
